Mini salt and pepper shakers are often used to add a bit of understated sophistication to a dining experience. These shakers are commonly used for large banquets where several sets might be needed for the same table. The small size of these sets allows them to be both functional and inconspicuous at the same time.

Mini salt and pepper shakers are often made from glass or crystal. Since glass is easily manipulated into any number of shapes, these sets can be found in many different designs. However, the most common shape is generally square or cylindrical.

Mini salt and pepper shakers can also be made from any number of alternative materials. Pewter and other metals are quite common, as are plastics and ceramics. The general designs, regardless of materials, are usually simple in nature.
